We support all of our local bike shops, because we believe that getting more women on bikes is good for the entire Birmingham cycling community. If you’d like to partner with us on an event (such as a Wine, Wenches & Wrenches social/workshop), please send us an email below.

Cahaba Cycles

One of the nation’s top 100 independent bike shops, Cahaba Cycles has been supporting the Birmingham cycling community since 1982. Owned by MC3 member Barbara Malkiand her family, Cahaba sponsors more than 50 cycling events and organizations in Alabama each year. In addition to bike sales and service, they rent bikes and offer a bike-fitting service that fine-tunes your bike to your body, helping you ride more comfortably and efficiently. If you visit the Pelham shop, make sure to meet MC3 member Stacey

Fagan Sports MedicinE

From T-ball ringers to Olympians, Fagan Sports Medicine has helped athletes of all stripes recover from sports injuries and get back to doing the sports they love. MC3 is lucky to have Dr. Kim Fagan and Dr. Sophia Lal as partners and members. Dr. Fagan, a Sports Medicine Specialist,  is board-certified in Internal Medicine and completed her medical training with a fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute. She is an active mother and leader in the medical community. Dr. Lal concluded her medical training with a Sports Medicine Fellowship with an emphasis on the female athlete. She is an avid triathlete who you might bump into training or racing.

Did you know that, by some estimates, it takes $10,000 to build one mile of mountain-bike trail? We have BUMP to thank for building and maintaining our ever-growing network of trails, including those at TrussvilleTannehill, and Oak Mountain State Park. Oak Mountain was recently featured in Southern Living as a family-friendly mountain bike destination, and its Red Trail was recently added to the International Mountain Bike Association’s list of Epic Rides, 52 must-ride trails around the world. BUMP recently became a local chapter of IMBA-SORBA, and by joining the club ($30/year or $50/family/year) your money goes toward the trails you love to ride. Click here to join BUMP.

Scott Thigpen

Local designer and avid mountain biker Scott Thigpen is a graphic satirist whose clever illustrations have spiced up the Wall Street JournalModern Bride, and our very own backs with the super-sassy-bada$$ MC3 jersey (Coming Soon!). He has donated an entire bike’s worth of his time to design our jersey and logo, so give the man props (and any schwag you can spare) as thanks for giving us an image we all can be proud to wear.

Osprey has provided guide packs to our IMBA-ICP mountain bike instructors and is also sending samples of hydration reservoirs for members to check out.

Chef U

Birmingham-based Chef U was created as a festive way to bring people together to laugh, cook and eat. From private chef’s table dinner parties to customized cooking classes right in your home, Chef U transforms each meal into an unforgettable experience (and they’ll even do the dishes!). Chef-owner Angela Schmidt has worked in some of Birmingham’s best kitchens, and she loves to share her knowledge of good food with others. An MC3 member and avid mountain biker and cyclocross racer, she will be donating her time and skills at MC3’s May mountain-bike clinic, teaching us a few tricks for making a healthy and delicious lunch.

Hero Kit

Hero Kit makes mechanical repair kits and cycling-specific first-aid kits designed to fit in your jersey pocket or saddle pack. What sets them apart is the inclusion of a step-by-step manual that walks you through basic fixes—because what’s the point of carrying around a chain tool if you have no idea how to use it? This small company donates 10% of its profits to organizations that promote healthy communities, and they reached out to us and offered to be an MC3 sponsor. They donated a mechanical repair kit to each of our IMBA-certified instructors, and 10% of every Hero Kit you buy through us supports MC3 clinics and programs. You’ll find them at our events or can purchase one by getting in touch with Kim Cross.
